Which countries/regions require CE marking?
The countries requiring the CE mark are the 31 countries in the European Economic Area. This includes:
All 28 EU Member States: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, the Czech republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and the UK.
Three members of the European Free Trade Association: Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway.
In addition, Turkey has fully implemented many CE marking directives, even though it is not a member of the EU or the European Economic Area.
Switzerland is also not a member of the European Union or the European Economic Area. However, it is part of the European Free Trade Association and therefore accepts the CE mark as a presumption of conformity with national technical regulations for certain products.
